I get asked quite often by customers which web browser they should use. It’s really a personal preference, but I personally choose Google Chrome because it’s fast, and there are some really cool things you can do with it beyond just surfing the web.

Chrome allows you to install extensions that push the web browser beyond it’s normal capabilities. You can visit the Chrome Web Store and search for particular extensions as well as just browse the various categories they have.

My personal favorite extention is called AdBlock. This extension allows you to view websites without the distraction of ads. I also like this for my son’s computers because some of the gaming websites have what I consider to be inappropriate ads.

Here is an example of a web page with and without the AdBlock extension in place:

Without AdBlock Extension

With AdBlock Extension Installed

Action Steps

So here’s what you need to do if you would like to do this:

Download and install the Google Chrome Web Browser.

Install the AdBlock extension.

Surf the web ad free!

Be sure to browse the Chrome Web Store for more great extensions that can make your life better.
